On estime \u00e0 un million les personnes touch\u00e9es en France. Il est h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire. <a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ameli.fr\/assure\/sante\/themes\/glaucome\/comprendre-glaucome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le glaucome<\/a> est souvent li\u00e9 \u00e0 une mont\u00e9e de la pression intraoculaire. Celle-ci entra\u00eene une atteinte du nerf optique et du champ visuel. Certains patients souffrent de glaucome alors que leur pression est normale. Le glaucome \u00e0 angle ouvert et le glaucome par fermeture de l\u2019angle. Le 1er est d\u00fb \u00e0 une inad\u00e9quation entre la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion et l\u2019\u00e9vacuation de l\u2019humeur aqueuse par le trabeculum (sorte de filtre). Cette \u00e9volution est lente et le patient ne ressent pas les effets de l\u2019augmentation de la pression dans son \u0153il. Ainsi seul le d\u00e9pistage permet d\u2019\u00e9viter les diagnostics tardifs. La 2e forme est plus brutale : le glaucome aigu associe d\u2019importantes douleurs \u00e0 une baisse de la vue et rel\u00e8ve de l\u2019urgence. Une op\u00e9ration du glaucome est souvent alors n\u00e9cessaire.
